As a Melbournian, it would be remiss of me to not acknowledge the Spring Racing Carnival, so this week I will send through the good, the bad and the ugly straight from the track at Flemington! So where better to start than with the big Black & White shabang that was yesterday, the Derby Day…
Celeb highlight was obviously Naomi, who looked stellar in Christian Dior, and No, she wasn’t sponsored by David Jones. Poppy D, the beautiful big sis to Cara Delevingne was my personal fav of the day, looking flawless in custom made J’Aton Couture with a Dolce & Gabbana Crown. The J’Aton boys also did an incredible sculptural bonanza for their perennial fav, Bec Judd. As expected Ms Bingle took the high fashion route, in a look that just screams Christine Centenera while J Hawk said ‘She felt cheeky’ in her leather Toni Maticevski. Ok sure. Moving on. Kate Waterhouse was a winner for me in the head ware department, sporting a stunning delicate Nerida Winter lace piece, scattered with gorgeous Hardy Brothers diamonds, a very nice diversion from the stock standard heavy fascinators and hats.
Overall, it was nice to see everyone sticking to tradition embracing the monochrome palette, and lets be honest, pretty much everyone can do black and white without fail, so kudos to everyone thus far. Now lets leave monochrome behind and crack out the colour for cup day…
