The painterly bug has bitten Christopher Bailey and he has let loose in one of the most beautiful collections of the Fall season thus far. If you thought last season he nailed it, with pretty pastels and delicate laces, then this season he solidified it, presenting a soft, feminine and cosy winter offering. Draping and accessorising was key to the overall theming, with nearly all models gliding down the runway adorned with either silky scarves belted in at the waist or flowing blanket like serapes casually thrown across the shoulder. Should your name be Cara Delevingne and should you be the hottest model on offer and should you be the house of Burberry’s face, then you’d probably be lucky enough to have your serape custom made to include your initials, probably just in case anyone else mixes it up with theirs.
The trenches, coats and jackets this time are covered with pretty floral painterly prints, as are the bags and shoes. Silky sheer dresses and deep rich lace dresses allowed for high waisted underwear options while shearling jackets and vibrant furs provided trend worthy options. Bailey is sitting pretty at Burberry and each season he seemingly knocks his last season out with an even better and more amazing show, this is by far one of the best of the month, already.
