Sarah Harris from Vogue UK put it perfectly when she said, “Not that long ago, if someone had said that Victoria Beckham would soon be designing a collection that would land somewhere between Celine and The Row, no one would have believed it.” This season, VB has shown her full capabilities as a developing womenswear designer, showcasing a highly wearable and timeless modern collection. A gold chain was the star of her show, replacing buttons, zips and even belts, singlehandedly becoming the only accessory necessary. Tailoring was still an emphasis but it a much more relaxed and slightly more feminine way than last season, with floaty maxi skirts teamed with perfectly cut vests and draping that managed to cling to just the right body part. Its great to see her push the boundaries and move into a more 3D place, as her natural penchant for simplicity has ensured this is executed with too much fuss. This is easily my most fav VB collection and I feel she is well on track to keep solidifying her ‘serious’ designer status.
